So a little about me…I am one of the few true Northern VA natives you will ever meet. Yes, we really do exist! People in general say I remind them of the girl next door. I’m not sure what that means but I’m told it’s a good thing. I pride myself on being independent, self-reliant and financially responsible. My friends will also tell you that I'm loyal, can hold a conversation with just about anyone and have a wicked sense of humor.More about me...I have a high-stress job that keeps me on my toes during the week, so I prefer to keep my weekends drama-free, filled with good times and great friends. I have my own house which is always a work in progress. Oh, I also have 3 adopted “rescue” children, who are short, furry, have 4 legs and bark. If you are afraid of dog hair, wet noses and/or sloppy kisses then I’m probably not the girl for you. ***Feel free to insert your "dog lady" joke here. So what am I looking for? Well, I would hope that we are all here for the same thing. I mean this is a “dating” site after all. First and foremost, I’m looking for new friends but I’m hoping in the end to meet “Mr. Right.” I think one can never have too many friends in their lives and it’s proven that it’s best friends who make for great boyfriends and even better husbands. Yes, I'm a hopeless romantic. So a little about you…Dog lovers are a requirement obviously. I’’t smoke and isn’t a huge drinker. I’m looking for someone who compliments me both figuratively and literally, has a great sense of humor, is financially and emotionally secure and most importantly independent. (I'm not looking for someone to be with me ***.) It would also be nice if you are open to marriage and kids. Not any time soon, but in the future.     I've decided to give online dating another try. I'm new to Northern Ca, and figured this would be a good way to branch out and meet people. I am interested in dating and possibly finding someone I can settle down with some day. I'm realistic and don't look for a "husband" in every guy I date. But I'm also not looking for quicky hook-ups or someone who'll play games. That being said, I love to laugh (I know, that sounds generic). But really I find a witty or sarcastic sense of humor very attractive. I am looking for a guy who is physically attractive, but more importantly, likable. By likable I mean: confident (not arrogant), funny (not immature), open-minded, family-oriented, financially stable (I in no way mean rich, I mean someone who can stand on their own two feet even when times get tough), likes music, isn't superficial, is moral and ethical. As for me, I think I have a lot to offer someone who is willing to take the time to get to know me. I'm definitely a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl. But every once in a while it's nice to get all dolled up to go somewhere. I have a sarcastic sense of humor, and I probably drop more f-bombs than are considered to be "lady like" :-) I have a large and loud ***Italian) family, one that still gets together for the old fashioned Sunday dinners every other weekend or so which I miss so much since I've moved. I love, love, love all kinds of music. I know people often say that, but I really do listen to a pretty wide variety of music (modern/classic/indie rock, blues/jazz, hip-hop/some rap, pop, classical/opera, Motown, etc)... everything. I spent 5yrs as a volunteer firefighter with CDF, which was such an awesome time in my life. I've been a police dispatcher now just about 8yrs, and really like what I do (most of the time lol). I have 6 tattoos and I may get more, but I definitely try to put some thought into them. I hope I've given enough about myself to get messaged with more than, "What's up". I'll pretty much just laugh and move on to a man who wants a relationship with someone besides himself. Or better yet, if you have one pic of you from a distance and all the rest are of your nice car or other flashy "things", don't complain that you're unable to find a woman who isn't materialistic or fake. Seriously, who do you THINK you're attracting with all that? I don't have any great answers for this. I don't think you can plan the "perfect" first date, it definitely depends on the company. But I'd say something casual that doesn't put on too much pressure.
