About Me

*** I'm putting this at the top because it wasn't getting noticed at the bottom... I have come to the realisation that I'm much more compatible with a man who earns a living using his brain, rather than his hands. ***Let's see... I'm on the short side of average but I love wearing high heels. My hair is much darker than it used to be, but I'll always consider myself a blonde.) I spend a fair amount of my time either in uniform or jeans and t-shirt, but I love to dress up for an evening out or special occasions.I am a huge bookworm and will fill my spare time (when I can find it) with reading. I don't watch tv (better things to do) but I think the Big Bang Theory is hilarious! I have a pretty quirky sense of humour though I can’t tell a joke to save my life... I absolutely hate cooking but I do have a few signature dishes. If we hit it off maybe I’ll make you my spaghetti :) I love outdoorsy stuff like golf, biking and hiking in the summer and downhill skiing in the winter, but snuggling on the couch watching a movie (among other things) is very enjoyable too.I have travelled extensively to some amazing as well as scary places, but mostly through work, which didn't give me the freedom to explore as I would have wanted to. I have been in the military for more than 22 years but am planning to move on within the next few. I am very interested in finance and am taking university courses part-time to prepare for my next career, and once I get my freedom from the navy I plan to go where I want, when I want :) Oh, and go on a cruise! I've always wanted to go to sea for a vacation, rather than work...My 11 year old daughter and I like to hang out and do fun things together. I share custoday with her father and we are still friends, so don't worry about any drama in that department - or any really, I'm a pretty level-headed person: I'm logical, don't hold grudges and easy to get along with.So, what am I looking for here? Well, I know what I find attractive in a man, but don't worry, I won’t *** 99.9% of all men by giving a long, exacting list of all my wants and desires in minute detail. Suffice it to say that I find confidence very attractive but quickly lose interest when I meet someone who is just plain arrogant. I value honesty, ambition and optimism as well - I'm a 'glass is half full' kinda girl myself. Unfortunately, I am another one of those women who prefer tall men – 5’10” or taller please. I know! It's silly isn't it? But when I throw on the 4" heels I still like to look up into a man's eyes.I am financially secure and have a plan for the future. I would like to find someone who is of the same frame of mind... Believe me, I understand that life can throw curveballs at even the best of us, but life is what we make of it and sitting back and saying 'poor me' *** getting off your butt and doing something about it is not something I am willing to waste time doing. Our first meeting would be simple - I'm a tea drinker but Tim Horten's or Starbucks are nice casual places to say hi.As for our first date though, no coffee houses please! A walk on the waterfront followed by a cozy meal for two; mini golf and a round of drinks; the time-honoured tradition of dinner and a movie even... I’m open to pretty much anything, and besides, it’s not what you do, but who you do it with :)

    My attempt at explaining myself, here goes:I understand that there are lots of people on this site that are looking for "love at first site", but I have to keep it a little real. I would like to meet someone that I can talk too, enjoy my time with, and have something potential to build on. I don't think that it is wrong to want someone to kiss, "snuggle", and get busy with (LOL)...but I also believe that you have to have something to build on to get to those places. While every girl loves attention - some of the people that I have met over time seem to think that having a warm body next to you means that the kiss, snuggling, and getting busy comes naturally...at first bite. My goals: To be a person, not a body, to someone who is looking for a relationship. I've been told to be honest, and I guess that is the only way I will find someone that is 'truely' looking for the same thing as myself. Therefore, let it be known that when I say a few extra pounds, I just might be too "fat" for some of you to date! :o) I'm good with who I am and what I have to offer someone who deserves my attention.I'm looking for someone to spend time with that enjoys doing a variety of things.
