About Me

Hi. I'm new here and don't really know what to say. I'm a blue-jeans and ball-cap kind of girl most of the time. I have tattoos and am not finished telling stories with them. I'm a single mother to a 11 year old son. He spends most of his time with me. We usually hang out at home but try to make it to one Jays' game a month during the season. I try to be active everyday. My favourite activities are hot yoga and biking but I would like to "learn" how to run this year. I read a lot - mostly silly chick lit, but lots of it. I'm looking forward to some DIY home renovations this summer. I like to entertain and cook for people but don't do enough of it right now. I like to walk to a neighbourhood pub for a few drinks when my son is away. I gravitate towards songwriters and story tellers, regardless of genre.

Be proud of your mistakes. Well, proud may not be exactly the right word, but respect them, treasure them, be kind to them, learn from them. And, more than that, and more important than that, make them. Make mistakes. Make great mistakes, make wonderful mistakes, make glorious mistakes. Better to make a hundred mistakes than to stare at a blank piece of paper too scared to do anything wrong. Can we pretend it's a second date?

Figured I would give this a shot! It is so hard to meet people these days with work, busy schedules, kids...the list goes on and on. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. I have many hobbies, basically anything outdoors is right up my alley! Running is my favorite hobby. I really enjoy distance running. I have ran 19 marathons, ***ks, and a 50 mile race to date. Between that and my daughter, I keep busy. I just have to run a little faster. I have worked in the medical field as a registered nurse for over 16 years. I enjoy the variety this field offers. It is never the same day twice and you always learn something new. Originally I am from up north. I do like snow, just don't like to travel in it. I am also an avid animal lover. We have several fuzzy family members in our household. One of my dogs enjoys running with me. Or maybe he likes swimming in the canal better....I have yet to figure that one out. My musical tastes are diverse. I love classic rock, top 40, dance. Just depends what my mood is. I even like a little country every now and then. I would love to meet some new people and see where things go. Hope to hear from you!

"I am someone who is looking for love. Real love. Ridiculous, inconvenient, consuming, can't-live-without-each-other love." And....I want to be with my best friend. So....where is this person??I am a low maintenance, honest, outgoing, outspoken, independent, affectionate, loyal, romantic, passionate person. Israel and DC are two of my favorite places. Ok, I admit it - I had a blast at Graceland. I'm a news/political junkie - love campaign season. I'm relatively liberal on most social issues. I do need my daily entertainment news fix. I walk on the treadmill 5- I enjoy movies,tv, music, reading, sunflowers, chocolate, politics, history, museums, sightseeing, plays/shows, restaurants, outdoor concerts, festivals, hiking, biking, etc etc. I guess I'm kind of a geek.....I don't ski, raft, fish, camp, hunt, etc etc. I'm not an outdoorsy kinda gal. I'm not into NASCAR or sports. I have been on a motorcycle but have no desire to get on one again anytime soon.READ THIS VERY VERY VERY VERY CAREFULLY: I am a single mom without a support system. I'm not like other single moms - I DON'T HAVE EVERY OTHER WEEKEND TO MYSELF. I am trying to juggle being a single mom, work and a social life but for the right person who has some patience, flexibility and understanding, I can and do make it all work.- I'm looking for: Emotional stability. Professional stability. Financial stability. Physical chemistry. Someone who is really ready and available to have a long term relationship - you have to do more than sweet talk to make it last. Educated - MUST HAVE, at a minimum, a COLLEGE DEGREE. While it sounds like I'm a snob, daughter's dad doesn't have a college degree. As I have gotten older, I realize the importance of my partner having a higher education. I need: Someone who can make me smile and laugh. Someone who knows how to be romantic and passionate. Someone who can be supportive during the good and bad. Someone who is relatively physically fit. Someone to enjoy life with. Someone to be a support system. Someone who will have my back. Someone I can completely trust and who will completely trust me, even when I do something stupid or make a mistake. Someone who knows how to say "I'm sorry" and mean it. Someone who can challenge me on every level. Someone to grow old with. Marriage isn't a priority though I'm not completely against remarrying. Someone who has a backbone, is independent and can take charge when necessary. Someone who can treat me like a lady but not just to get me into his bed. Having great sex is really important but I want more than that. I want to be having great sex with my best friend. I'm the executive assistant to the president of a local company. I'm overqualified for my job but I really enjoy it and I think that is really important. Before that, I was a paralegal for many years. Way before that, I stuck my toes into the political/legislative world in DC. If you want to know more......ask me out on a date!!! I promise to talk your ear off!!. Breakfast (my sunday mornings are free during the school year), lunch or dinner. Then, hopefully, planning the next date.
