Dear Ladies (and Gentlemen)
How's your social life going? If you've figured out the secret of how these apps connect you with other singles I applaud you! Otherwise deciding to start the dating process in ***is up there with tasks like root canals, and mammograms. I would love to have your input as to what desirable traits make a great get off the couch companion!
I suspect every member of this site is Busy! If we weren't, our normal circle of friends would provide interactions and opportunities to make a connection. I'm speaking mostly to the after marriage, kids, and post divorce crowd. I believe these sites are designed more to create a dependence rather than a connection. Those monthly fees dry up once you're happy in a new relationship.
So I think it's vitally important to take the time to express yourself fully in your profile and let others know what's behind the *** if you must, if this is a coy game of cat and mouse, please look for prey elsewhere. Sadly, we wouldn't need this if anti-social personalities weren't out their looking for victims.
Dating apps remove the risks of personal interaction, but they also remove the possibility of surprise and taking a chance. We raise our walls and our expectations as we register in hope's that we will avoid making the same mistakes of the past. The problem is their is no way of knowing if anything you see here is authentic in anyway. We see a picture, and begin to write out own story, or rather fantasy. (That's what got us here in the first place, isn't it?)
If you've read this far please keep reading. I live south of Durham in the Goldston, Bear Creek area. I have lived in NC since the early 90's, but are new to this area.
