About Me
Fair to say I'm not like other boys, and I don't reflect my age. In my world, age is a state of mind..well, until you're shuffled off to a palliative care facility or start leaving the house without your pants, then okay, time to face the music, but until then, you're not going to catch me sporting socks and sandals or driving a dirt-brown Ford Excretion.
I'm not about home ownership, because you can't take it with you and I'm not interested in spending my Sunday afternoons scooping slime out of the eavestroughs when I'm in my 70's, or shovelling snow, for that matter. I'd rather rent and spend that kind of money on travel and memories. I like nice things, but I'm not materialistic and keep my boy toys to a minimum. No collection of broken cars here, no garage full of snowmobiles, but I confess to slowly and painfully converting my VW into a track weapon. There's no toxic masculinity, I'm well attuned to my feminine aspects and appreciate them greatly. I'm sensitive, tender, empathetic, but equally able to tap into the constitution that saw me through my formative Cubs/Scouts/Cadets/combat engineer days. I read a lot, but don't own any books because I give them all away, passing them on to friends like a religious zealot or MLM maven..friends say I'm generous, I maintain that it reduces clutter. I'm incurably romantic, all about cheesy notes in your lunch and flowers for no reason, yet kinkier than 50 Shades ever dared imagine (btw, it was rapey, mysoginistic garbage, and if Grey lived in a basement apartment rather than an ivory tower the whole thing would have been a Law And Order episode, not a "romance").
I advocate for feminism and equality, but I'm chivalrous and deferential toward women. I have myriad indoor hobbies, crafts involving fashion, painting, re-purposing, jewelry, gaming and whatnot, but the homebody aspect is quickly pushed aside for special club event or an all-night beach rave. Or even to party at home, another fave activity. I'm ex-military, but abhore the wars of convenience that mark our time, essentially pacifist by nature. I don't currently have any pets, but do aspire to co-habitate with a cat.
So, a mass of contradictions, yet predictably steady of character within the bounds of honesty, honour and authenticity. You'll find this book an easy read, in large type, double-spaced, and sporting vivid illustrations. There's no need to read between the lines, or insert your own narrative in a void because I'm communicative, affectionate, attentive and a sensualist, and there's little chance you won't know where I stand, or how I feel.. I'm sapio and demisexual, and seek more than anything a linking of spirits..someone who's demons play well with my own. As somone once said, life is too short for boring shoes.
