What Majority Think About Marrying a Porn Star

Most people consider marrying a porn star a bad idea and wouldn't look at a porn star as at a future wife/husband. This was highlighted in a poll, which was carried out by Meetville.com (dating app to find the right person) between 7/1/14 and 11/24/14.

In the poll people were asked: “Would you marry a porn star?” 60% of respondents prefer not to have a porn star as a partner.

Although porn industry is a very profitable business, many porn stars decided to leave the job for the sake of their partners. Melia Robinson, reporter in Business Insider's Lists & Features vertical, says: “They become real estate agents, nurses, Christian activists, stay-at-home moms, and private investigators.” Though porn business left in the past, the way of former porn stars is not that easy. Melia adds: “But the road to societal normalcy isn't always easy and often presents financial struggle, parent-child conflicts — like being recognized at their preteen daughter's track meet —  and relapses into the industry.”

Despite the fact that it may seem impossible to combine married life with porn industry, there are porn stars who are not going to choose between these two. Marcus Spencer, a porn star and a family man, admits: “It’s one of those challenges we had to overcome. I’m a good dude. I just happen to work in porn. You've got porn and you've got your family. You want your job and you want your family. It’s a constant struggle. A long time ago, she [his wife] wanted me to walk away. I told her I couldn't. I just had to do something more with it. I wanted to make an impression. Hopefully, it will take me in a different direction.”

Number of respondents 93,978. From the USA - 54%, from Canada 4%, from Britain - 11%, Australia – 7% and other countries – 24%. Among those who answered “Yes”, the distribution of votes was as follows: male – 92%, female – 8%.

Alex Cusper, Meetville service analyst, comments on the results: “There are evident differences between how men and women imagine their ideal partner. While women are designed to be more careful when selecting their significant others, men act according to their natural instincts and don’t exclude the idea of marrying a hot looking porn star.”
